What does it mean to overcome by faith?

Answered in 1 source

To overcome by faith means to trust in Jesus as the victorious Savior who grants us salvation and strength.

In Revelation 2:17, Christ promises that those who overcome will be given hidden manna and a white stone. Overcoming is not based on personal strength or works, but through faith in Jesus Christ, as stated in 1 John 5:5. This faith unites believers with Christ, who has already secured victory over sin and death. The blessings promised to overcomers illustrate the intimate relationship believers have with Christ and the eternal spiritual nourishment He provides. To overcome is to live in the assurance of our salvation, rooted in the grace that sustains us through every trial and tribulation.
