What does it mean to preach Christ only?

Answered in 1 source

Preaching Christ only means lifting up Jesus as the sole focus of our message and hope.

Paul emphasizes in 2 Corinthians 4 that true preaching rests solely upon Christ. Instead of promoting self or attempting to offer solutions apart from Him, the message is centered on Jesus, His work, and His sovereignty. This brings clarity and simplicity to the Gospel, guiding listeners away from reliance on their efforts toward a complete dependence on Christ's righteousness. The more we focus on Him, the more our understanding of the Gospel and its implications for our lives grows, which ultimately leads to assurance and hope.
