What does it mean to receive the whole Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Receiving the whole Christ means accepting Him fully as Savior, Lord, and the totality of God's provision for salvation.

To receive the whole Christ entails embracing all aspects of His person and work. In John 1:12, it states, 'As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.' This means that believers must accept Christ not only as Savior but also recognize His Lordship, His humanity, and His divinity. The gospel calls us to receive Him as our righteousness, Savior, and the one who fulfills all God’s promises. Rejecting any part of Christ, such as His deity or His redeeming work, undermines the fullness of salvation that He offers. Believers are thus urged to receive the whole gospel of Christ, which encompasses His atoning sacrifice, His lordship, and His role as our mediator.
