What does it mean to rest in God's sovereign grace?

Answered in 1 source

Resting in God's sovereign grace means trusting fully in His provision and promises, recognizing that salvation is His work in us.

To rest in God’s sovereign grace is to cease from striving in our own strength and to place full confidence in His ability to save and sustain us. Isaiah 30 teaches that true salvation comes through returning and resting in God. This is a challenge for many, as the flesh instinctively seeks to fix problems and rely on personal works. In Hebrews 4, we are called to labor to enter into that rest, implying that it is a struggle against our instincts and distractions. However, this rest is vital as it acknowledges that our salvation and sanctification are entirely dependent upon Christ's sacrifice and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, allowing us to experience peace amid trials.
