What does it mean to see God?

Answered in 1 source

Seeing God refers to experiencing His presence and understanding His nature, which is only possible for those with a pure heart.

To see God means to have a deep, relational understanding and communion with Him that transcends mere physical sight. The Bible teaches that those who are pure in heart are blessed with the ability to see God in both the present spiritual sense and the future, when believers shall behold Him face to face in glory. This vision encompasses recognizing God's sovereignty, His attributes, and His grace manifest in creation and providence. In John 9:39, Jesus teaches that spiritual blindness prevents individuals from seeing God's truth, emphasizing the need for a new heart to perceive spiritual realities and the divine beauty inherent in God’s character.
