What does it mean to seek eternal life?

Answered in 1 source

Seeking eternal life involves recognizing one's need for salvation and understanding that it can only be found in Jesus Christ.

To seek eternal life means to acknowledge the reality of sin and the inability of human works to secure salvation. As illustrated by the rich young ruler in Matthew 19:16-22, there is an urgency and a sincere desire to understand how to inherit eternal life. This inquiry leads to recognizing that true eternal life comes from Jesus Christ, who stated in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life. To seek Him means to look to Him for redemption and to respond to His call with faith and repentance.
