What does it mean to truly believe in Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

To truly believe in Christ means trusting in Him fully for salvation and recognizing Him as the only source of righteousness.

True belief in Christ involves more than mere intellectual assent; it requires a deep, personal trust in Him as the sole means of salvation. In John 14:1, Jesus urges us not to let our hearts be troubled, but to believe in God and also in Him, indicating the equality of trust we should place in His divine character. This belief entails understanding that our justification and acceptance before God hinge entirely on Christ's righteousness, not our own. We are to rely on His finished work and to affirm that through faith in Him, we gain access to the Father and find mercy and grace. Authentic belief manifests itself in a life transformed by that faith, leading to worship, obedience, and a desire to know Him through His Word.
