What does obedience to Christ mean?

Answered in 1 source

Obedience to Christ means placing faith in Him as the only source of righteousness, rather than relying on our works.

Obedience to Christ transcends mere compliance with commandments; it is fundamentally about faith in Him. This obedience is evident when we cease striving to be righteous in our own strength and instead trust in Christ's finished work. The obedience that God desires from us is defined by our belief in the Gospel. In Romans 16:26 and 1 John 3:23, we are reminded that to obey God's command means to believe in His Son. Our dependency on Christ is integral to the Christian faith, as salvation is entirely by grace through faith, and it necessitates resting in His sufficiency rather than our efforts.
