What does pride reveal about our relationship with God?

Answered in 1 source

Pride often reveals a refusal to submit to God's authority and an attempt to elevate oneself.

Pride fundamentally distorts our relationship with God by placing our desires above His sovereign will. Those who are proud often view God as an adversary rather than a loving Creator, leading to a rejection of His truth and authority. This detachment fosters ignorance towards God, obstructs spiritual growth, and ultimately ends in eternal separation from His presence, as illustrated in Matthew 23:12, where it states that those who exalt themselves will be humbled.
