What does the Bible mean by a worldly walk?

Answered in 1 source

A worldly walk refers to living in accordance with the values and behaviors of an ungodly society.

In Ephesians 4:17, Paul warns believers not to walk as the Gentiles do, indicating that a worldly walk is characterized by emptiness of mind and ignorance of God's truth. This walk values pride, selfishness, and a disregard for God’s commandments. The behaviors of a worldly walk lead to spiritual darkness and alienation from God, as described in verses 18-19. Conversely, believers are called to a higher standard—a walk that reflects Christ's character and purposes rather than conforming to the behaviors of a secular culture. Our calling requires us to distinguish ourselves from worldly practices and instead bear fruit that glorifies God.
