What does the Bible mean by seeing God?

Answered in 1 source

Seeing God means experiencing His presence and fellowship, both now and in eternity.

The promise that the pure in heart shall see God indicates an intimate relationship with Him, characterized by spiritual clarity and understanding. Currently, believers perceive God's glory through faith and the revelation of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6). This view is limited, as Paul states in 1 Corinthians 13:9-12, where we know in part. However, the promise extends into the future, wherein believers will see God face to face, leading to ultimate satisfaction and understanding of His nature (Psalm 17:15). Thus, seeing God encompasses both a present reality in a believer's spiritual experience and a future hope in eternal fellowship with the Divine.
