What does the Bible say about afflictions and glory?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that present afflictions are light and momentary, compared to the eternal weight of glory that awaits believers.

In 2 Corinthians 4:17, the Apostle Paul emphasizes that our light affliction works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. This teaches us to view our sufferings in light of eternity; the afflictions we face in this life are temporary and serve a God-ordained purpose to draw our affections towards Christ. Paul himself endured significant hardships yet considered them light compared to the glory he anticipated. Thus, believers should adopt a perspective that prioritizes eternal values and spiritual truths over earthly troubles.
