What does the Bible say about approaching God as sinners?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that guilty sinners can only approach God through faith in Jesus Christ, our only sacrifice.

In Hebrews 9, the Apostle emphasizes that no one can approach the Holy Lord God except through Christ. He is our sin-atoning high priest, whose sacrifice on the cross is the only means by which we can be accepted by God. The Old Testament sacrifices were only types and shadows of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, which fulfilled all requirements for atonement. Therefore, our access to God is solely through our faith in Christ, who accomplished what the Levitical sacrifices could not achieve – the total cleansing of our sins and our guilty consciences.
