What does the Bible say about asking God for wisdom?

Answered in 7 sources

The Bible teaches that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask of God, and He will provide generously without reproach (James 1:5).

In James 1:5, we find a clear directive for believers facing trials: 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.' This verse highlights that God is willing to impart wisdom generously to those who earnestly seek it. The wisdom we receive is not limited to life's complex questions but envelopes every situation we encounter. It is God's desire for His children to depend on Him for guidance in all aspects of life, particularly during trials and tribulations.
