What does the Bible say about assurance?

Answered in 4 sources

The Bible teaches that assurance comes from understanding our righteousness in Christ, which leads to peace and quietness as indicated in Isaiah 32:17.

The Bible describes assurance as certainty and confidence rooted in Christ. In Isaiah 32:17, it states, 'the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.' Assurance is about being confident in our salvation and knowing that we belong to Christ, that His blood was shed for us to atone for all our sins. Assurance is foundational to the believer's experience as it brings peace and joy in knowing we are reconciled with God through Christ.
