What does the Bible say about assurance in God’s promises?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that assurance comes from understanding God's satisfaction with Christ's sacrifice.

In Genesis 15, Abraham asks God for assurance regarding His promise of the land. God responds by directing Abraham to a sacrifice, symbolizing that true assurance is found in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Assurance does not come from our feelings or works, but from the realization that God is satisfied with Christ's sacrifice. When we understand that God views us in Christ and is pleased with His Son, we can have true assurance of our salvation and inheritance.
