What does the Bible say about being a follower of God?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that being a follower of God means to abide by His word and recognize Christ as the sole source of salvation.

To be a follower of God, as stated in Ephesians 5:1, involves following God's word and accepting Christ as the only way to salvation. Ignoring or denying Scripture disqualifies one from being a true disciple of Christ. It is through understanding and revelation of God's word that one becomes equipped to follow Him sincerely. This means we acknowledge Christ's central role in Scripture as God manifest in the flesh, understanding that all Scripture points to His redemptive work on the cross as the sole means for our salvation.
