What does the Bible say about being a sojourner in the world?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that believers are strangers and sojourners in this world, called out of the world by God.

According to 1 Peter 1:17-25, believers are described as sojourners and strangers. This signifies that their true citizenship lies in heaven and not in this present world. Our Lord's words assert that if we were of the world, the world would love us; however, because we are chosen out of the world, we face animosity. Our identity as pilgrims emphasizes that we are merely passing through, looking towards our eternal home and glory, much like Abraham who lived in faith awaiting the city with eternal foundations designed by God.
