What does the Bible say about being ashamed of ourselves?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that we should be ashamed of our sins and ungratefulness before God.

The scripture in Romans 10:11 illustrates that those who believe in Christ shall not be ashamed. However, the message explains that we should recognize the shame of our sinful nature. Just like Ezra the scribe expressed shame for his people's sins, we too should feel ashamed of our rebellion against God's goodness and mercy. Our iniquities increase, and we often take God's provisions for granted, leading to a collective unthankfulness which is shameful in the sight of a holy God.
