What does the Bible say about being clean in God's sight?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that believers are made clean in God's sight through the righteousness of Christ, which is imputed to them.

In Scripture, particularly in 2 Samuel 22:21-28, believers can claim, 'The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness.' This righteousness is not derived from personal merit but is the perfect righteousness of Christ, which has been imputed to them upon faith. This means that when God looks upon His people, He sees them as clean and pure, not due to their actions, but because of the sacrificial atonement of Jesus Christ. Believers are therefore encouraged to live in light of this truth, proclaiming their identity in Christ while striving for integrity in their conduct.
