What does the Bible say about being established before God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that a man shall not be established by wickedness but by the righteousness of Christ.

According to Proverbs 12:3, a man shall not be established by wickedness, which means that one cannot secure a standing before God through sinful actions. This reflects the understanding that human effort and morality, viewed as righteous by men, fall short of God's standards. In fact, all acts apart from faith in Christ constitute wickedness. Without regeneration by the Holy Spirit, individuals remain ignorant of their true state and believe falsehoods about their righteousness. Righteousness before God is established solely through the perfect obedience and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who fulfilled the law on behalf of His people.
