What does the Bible say about being free from the law?

Answered in 7 sources

The Bible teaches that through Christ’s death, believers are released from the law's condemnation and can now serve in the new way of the Spirit.

Romans 7:1-6 explains that the law is binding only as long as one lives. Believers have died to the law through the body of Christ, meaning they are no longer under its penalty or authority. Instead, they are free to belong to Christ, who enables them to bear fruit for God. This freedom does not mean an absence of moral responsibility; rather, it transforms how believers relate to God's commands, now motivated by grace rather than legal obligation.
