What does the Bible say about being hated for the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that believers will be hated for the sake of Christ and the gospel (Luke 21:17).

In Luke 21:17, Jesus clearly states, 'And you shall be hated by all for my name's sake.' This is a direct warning to His followers that allegiance to Him and His gospel will not be met with universal acceptance but rather with hatred and opposition. This enmity arises from the deep-seated, sinful nature of man who, left to himself, is enmity against God (Romans 8:7). True believers, by their very stand for the gospel, invite persecution because the world loves darkness rather than light (John 3:19).
