What does the Bible say about being made worthy?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that we are made worthy through the worthiness of Christ alone.

In 2 Thessalonians 1:11, Paul emphasizes that believers are counted worthy of their calling not by their own merit but solely by the worthiness of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is central to sovereign grace theology, where human beings are seen as unworthy by nature. Our worthiness before God comes from being united with Christ, who fulfills the law's demands and bears our sins. In prayer, we acknowledge our unworthiness and rely on Christ's righteousness and grace to be found worthy of the kingdom of God.
