What does the Bible say about being perfect before God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that absolute perfection is required by God, and this perfection is provided through Christ's sacrifice.

According to the Scriptures, God requires absolute perfection from His creation, as noted in Hebrews 10:1, which states that the law cannot make us perfect. The sacrifices of the Old Testament were merely shadows, pointing to the ultimate sacrifice of Christ. God cannot accept anything less than perfect righteousness. This righteousness, however, is provided for us through Christ, as He declared from the cross, 'It is finished.' Through faith in Jesus, we are, therefore, seen as perfect before God, having our sins entirely removed.
