What does the Bible say about being redeemed from the curse?

Answered in 5 sources

The Bible teaches that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, taking upon Himself the punishment for our sins.

Galatians 3:10-14 explains that everyone under the works of the law is cursed because no one can keep the law perfectly. This curse is a pronouncement of judgment on those who fail to comply with all its demands. However, Christ has redeemed His people from this curse by becoming a curse for us. He was made sin and bore the punishment due for our iniquities, proving through His crucifixion that He fulfilled the requirements of the law. As a result, those who have faith in Christ are no longer under the law's condemnation but are seen as justified before God.
