What does the Bible say about being troubled in heart?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible acknowledges that we will face troubles, but we are not to despair because God provides peace and support.

The Bible, particularly in 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, tells us that although we are troubled on every side, we are not distressed; we are perplexed but not in despair. This reflects the reality that while Christians encounter numerous trials and tribulations—as promised in John 16:33—we can rest assured in the peace and support of God. He provides us with the grace needed to endure these trials, as seen in 2 Corinthians 12:9, allowing us to face life's challenges with the hope of His presence.

Even when we experience persecution or feel like cast-down vessels, we are reminded that we are not forsaken (2 Corinthians 2:14). God upholds us through community support and His everlasting love. The troubles we face serve a purpose and must be viewed from a perspective of hope, leading us to focus on the eternal promises God has for us, as discussed in 2 Corinthians 4:18. In times of distress, believers can call upon God’s sustaining grace and maintain their faith in His plan and eternal glory.
