What does the Bible say about believers not sinning?

Answered in 1 source

1 John 3:6 states that believers who abide in Christ do not sin.

1 John 3:6 tells us that, 'Whosoever abideth in him, sinneth not.' This assertion does not suggest that believers are devoid of sin in their daily lives; rather, it highlights their status in Christ. Abiding in Christ means a complete union with Him, characterized by righteousness and spiritual integrity. When God looks at believers, He sees them as those who are untainted by sin because they are in Christ, who is sinless. This does not negate the struggle with sin that believers face; instead, it emphasizes their identity in Christ where the nature of sin is transformed.
