What does the Bible say about belonging to God?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that all people belong to God as their Creator, but believers belong to Him in a special, familial way as His children.

The Bible clearly affirms that all creation belongs to God, as seen in Romans 9:15-26, where God exercises His sovereign will over His creatures. However, believers enjoy a unique relationship with God characterized by intimacy and love, likened to that of a child with a father or a wife with her husband. This relationship is established through God's sovereign grace, as He elected certain individuals to be His people (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14).
