To bless God means to proclaim and give thanks for His blessedness and mercies.
Blessing God is not about adding anything to Him, since He is already perfect and complete. Instead, it is a proclamation of His greatness and an expression of gratitude for His countless mercies. As Paul writes, 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,' he encourages believers to offer praise to God as a response to their relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. When we bless God, we acknowledge His sovereignty, grace, and the gifts He bestows upon us, reinforcing our position as His adopted children who owe everything to His mercy.
