What does the Bible say about blessing Jehovah?

Psalm 103 stresses the importance of blessing Jehovah, or praising Him, from deep within our souls. This act of blessing is characterized not as benefiting God—since He is self-sufficient—but as extolling, worshiping, and adoring Him for all His attributes and the blessings He bestows upon humanity. As we read in the first verse of this Psalm, 'Bless Jehovah, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.' This command reminds us that our entire being should participate in this act, honoring and revering God.
