What does the Bible say about choosing to serve God?

In Joshua 24, we see Joshua urging the people of Israel to make a decisive choice about whom they will serve, highlighting the necessity of serving the one true God over false idols. Joshua calls the Israelites to put away the gods of their ancestors and choose whom they would serve—whether the gods on the other side of the river or the idols of the Amorites.
