What does the Bible say about Christ as our King?

Answered in 6 sources

The Bible reveals Christ as the sovereign King who came to save His people from their sins, conquering death, hell, and the grave.

The Bible presents Christ as King throughout its pages, particularly as prophesied in Isaiah 9:6, where He is called the Prince of Peace. His kingship is fulfilled in the New Testament, where He is seen as the one who successfully redeems His people. In 1 Samuel 8, we see the Israelites demanding a king like the other nations, which reflects man's desire for a physical savior rather than the spiritual salvation that God truly offers through Christ. Jesus, unlike earthly kings, came to establish a spiritual kingdom and save us from our sin, which is ultimately the greatest aspect of His kingship.
