What does the Bible say about Christ as our representative for sin?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that Christ, who knew no sin, became our representative by taking on our sins, allowing us to be justified before God.

In the doctrine of Objective Reconciliation, it is affirmed that Christ, knowing no sin, was appointed as a representative for the elect's sins. This means that through the covenant of redemption, Christ took on the weight of sin on behalf of those God chose, which is centered on His sacrificial death at Calvary (Romans 5:10). Through Christ's suffering and subsequent glorification, believers are granted righteousness before God, not because of their own works but due to the imputation of Christ's righteousness to them.
