What does the Bible say about Christ as the greater Jeremiah?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that Christ is typified by Jeremiah, embodying greater authority and purpose as the appointed prophet.

In Jeremiah chapter one, we see that Jeremiah is appointed by God to prophesy to the nations, a role that foreshadows Christ's greater mission. Just as Jeremiah was ordained before birth (Jeremiah 1:5), so was Jesus, who was foreordained before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:20, Revelation 13:8). This typology showcases how the lesser types in the Old Testament are fulfilled perfectly in Christ, who not only fulfills the prophetic office but also embodies the very essence of God’s redemptive purpose.
