What does the Bible say about Christ's refusal of the wine mingled with myrrh?

Answered in 1 source

Christ refused the wine mingled with myrrh to remain fully conscious of His sufferings during His crucifixion.

In Mark 15:23, it is recorded that Christ was offered wine mingled with myrrh but He refused it. This refusal highlighted His determination to endure the full weight of His suffering on the cross. Jesus was both the priest and the sacrifice, actively participating in His death to fulfill Scriptures regarding the atonement for sin. By refusing the drink, He demonstrated that He would not be dulled to the agony of the moment which was necessary for the full realization of His sacrificial role as the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
