What does the Bible say about Christ's victory over evil?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's victory is eternal; His death secures the liberation of His people from sin and death.

The Bible depicts Christ's victory as secured through His death and resurrection, defeating Satan and liberating His people. In John 19, although Jesus appears defeated, He is actually fulfilling God's plan for salvation. His assertion to Pilate, that no power exists except that given from above, underscores the sovereignty of God over all earthly authorities. This implies that even in His weakness, Christ remains the King of Kings, bringing forth true liberation for His elect. His suffering is ultimately not weakness, but an integral part of the victory over sin and evil.
