What does the Bible say about committing ourselves to God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that committing ourselves to God involves sincerely asking Him to receive us in Christ, our righteousness.

Committing ourselves and our cause to God means approaching Him with a true heart, acknowledging our dependence on Christ's righteousness. In Psalm 17, David demonstrates this by asking God to hear his prayer on the basis of Christ's perfect righteousness, recognizing that our prayers, while sincere, are often filled with sin and unbelief. Therefore, we must come boldly to God through Christ, who intercedes for us, allowing us to lay our hearts and causes before Him with confidence and sincerity.
