What does the Bible say about compromise with the Gospel?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that it is better to face frustration than to compromise the truth of the Gospel.

In Ezra 4, we see the people of Judah and Benjamin confronted by adversaries who wished to co-build the temple. Zerubbabel and the chief fathers firmly rejected this offer, proclaiming that they had nothing in common with these adversaries and would not compromise their task of rebuilding the house of their God. This illustrates a key point in Scripture: that compromising the truth for the sake of acceptance or to avoid conflict is not an option for God's people. It is better to experience frustration and opposition than to dilute or forsake the Gospel for the sake of unity with those who do not share the same faith.
