What does the Bible say about confidence on the day of judgment?

1 John 4:17 clearly states that our confidence on the day of judgment is rooted in the reality that, as Christ is, so are we in this world. This means that our assurance does not stem from our character or actions, which can often reflect our shortcomings and inability to live up to Christ's example. Instead, our confidence is derived from the fact that God's perfect love for us, demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son, has reconciled us to Him.
