What does the Bible say about cooperation with false religions?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns against cooperating with those who mix false gods with the worship of the true God.

In Ezra 4, the adversaries of Judah sought to cooperate with the Israelites in rebuilding the temple, claiming they served the same God. However, Zerubbabel and Joshua firmly rejected their offer, emphasizing that they had nothing in common. This rejection was not based on prejudice, but on a critical distinction between true worship and false. The enemies practiced a form of pluralism, acknowledging the living God while also serving their own gods. The biblical text teaches that the worship of Jehovah cannot coexist with false worship; adherence to God's truth must be absolute. Such cooperation would dilute the integrity of worship and compromise the truth of the gospel.
