What does the Bible say about criticism?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that criticism can be a means of growth, helping us to refine our character and become more like Christ.

Criticism, when received in a right spirit, acts as a tool for our sanctification. Proverbs 27:17 states, 'Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.' Rather than viewing criticism solely as negative feedback, Christians should see it as an opportunity to learn and grow. The experience of being critiqued can bring to light our blind spots and imperfections, ultimately driving us toward a more Christlike character.
