What does the Bible say about crying out to God in need?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the heartfelt cry for mercy from a place of affliction is both heard and honored by God.

Psalm 130:3-6 illustrates that when one cries out of the depths, particularly from a place of guilt and affliction, God is attentive to those cries. Unlike the self-righteous Pharisee who was not heard due to his pride, the publican's humble plea for mercy was met with justification. This teaches us that true prayer arises from a need for mercy and acknowledgment of one's own unworthiness. God's promise to hear those who come in sincerity and brokenness emphasizes that He delights in responding to the prayers of sinners who acknowledge their condition before Him.
