What does the Bible say about deception in faith?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns believers to take heed that no man deceive them regarding the truth of God and the gospel.

In Matthew 24:4-5, Jesus cautions His disciples to be vigilant and not to be deceived by those claiming to come in His name. Deception often arises when people convince others to believe something that is not according to Scripture, particularly concerning the nature of God, the gospel, and the true person of Jesus Christ. Believers are urged to remain steadfast in the truths of Scripture to avoid falling prey to false teachings. Paul also warned the Galatians about being bewitched and deceived after they had received the true gospel.
