What does the Bible say about desiring the Lord?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that our greatest desire should be to dwell in God's presence and seek Him above all else.

Psalm 27:4 highlights David's singular focus on desiring to dwell in the house of the Lord and behold His beauty. This illustrates the heart of a believer, where the desire for God surpasses all earthly desires. As Jesus pointed out, what we treasure reflects where our heart lies. If our primary desire is for the temporal things of this world, we will find only disappointment. In contrast, if we desire the Lord, we find true satisfaction and fulfillment, for He alone can satisfy our spiritual hunger and need.
