What does the Bible say about drawing near to God?

Answered in 25 sources

The Bible encourages believers to draw near to God with sincere hearts, assured of acceptance through Christ's redemptive work (Hebrews 10:22).

Hebrews 10:22 instructs us to draw near to God with a true heart, fully assured of faith. This assurance stems from our hearts being sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies being washed with pure water. Such a true heart is wholly devoted to God, desiring His glory over our gratification. This deep connection is made possible because of Christ's finished work, which provides us direct access to the Father, enabling us to approach Him with confidence, recognizing that our redemption and acceptance are grounded solely in Him.
