What does the Bible say about dying in peace?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that believers can die in peace, assured of salvation and acceptance by God.

In Luke 2:29-30, Simeon expresses his readiness to depart this life in peace because he has seen God's salvation. This reflects a core belief in sovereign grace theology: true peace in death comes from knowing one's sins are forgiven through Christ. For believers, death is not a frightening end but a transition into the presence of the Lord. They can confidently say they will see God clearly and without condemnation due to Christ's atoning sacrifice.
