What does the Bible say about everlasting righteousness?

Everlasting righteousness, as stated in Psalm 119:142, is described as God's righteousness which never had a beginning and will never have an end. It is not something we achieve through our own efforts but is a gift given through faith in Jesus Christ, the only perfect Righteous One. This type of righteousness is necessary for our acceptance before God, as without it, we remain in our sin. As Paul highlights in Galatians 2:21, if righteousness could be attained through the law, then Christ's sacrifice would be in vain.
