What does the Bible say about examining our faith?

Scripture notably calls us to examine ourselves to see whether we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). However, this examination should not center on our own righteous acts—since we have none—but rather on our trust in Christ and His Gospel. The focus of our examination must be whether we love Christ above all else and recognize the transformative power of the Gospel in our lives.
