What does the Bible say about faith and doubts in Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that faith brings the believer closer to Christ, while doubt arises when we focus on our problems instead.

In the account from Matthew 14:22-31, Peter is initially able to walk on water towards Jesus, illustrating the power of faith. However, when he shifts his focus to the wind and the waves, he begins to sink. This demonstrates that doubt often occurs when we take our eyes off Christ and pay attention to our circumstances. True faith enables us to overcome our fears, as seen in Hebrews 11:1, which defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen.
